A Taste of Tradition
Zlaten Rozhen Winery is located in the village of Kapatovo in the southern Struma Valley. It works with estate vineyards and combines contemporary winemaking with a clear focus on the indigenous grapes of the Melnik area.
The winery's public information names Dimitar Petkov as technologist. Its production site covers about 4,000 m² and has the capacity to process up to 150 tonnes of grapes annually. Zlaten Rozhen is a member of the Bulgarian Association of Independent Winegrowers and Winemakers.
Land and vineyards
The winery reports about 120 decares of estate vineyards. Varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Melnik 55, Melnik Ruby and Broad-Leaved Melnik Vine. A planned planting of Sandanski Misket has also been mentioned publicly and should be confirmed before being presented as a current vineyard planting.
