Rupel Winery
A southern Struma Valley winery whose vineyards around Dolno Spanchevo and Harsovo are shaped by warm Aegean influence entering through the Rupel Gorge.
Rupel Winery is located near the village of Dolno Spanchevo in the southern Struma Valley. Its vineyards lie around Dolno Spanchevo and Harsovo, in a landscape with a strong southern climatic influence.
The development of the modern vineyards began in 2006 with selected French and Italian planting material. The winery emphasises the relationship between local terroir, the southern climate and contemporary viticulture.
Land and vineyards
The vineyards are located around Harsovo and Dolno Spanchevo in the Durylovitsa area. Warm Aegean air enters this part of the valley through the Rupel Gorge, while the wider landscape is framed by Pirin, Belasitsa, Maleshevo and Ograzhden.
